Serbia, Kingdom of. An Order of St. Sava, Second Class Star, by Karl Fleischhacker, c.1900

(Orden Svetog Save). Instituted January 23rd, 1883. Type II - 1903-1922. (C. 1917 issue). A eight arm silver star with hand finished detailing with a silver gilt Maltese Cross with blue and white enameled arms, each finished with ball finals and with silver gilt Serbian double-headed eagles in each quadrant with red enameled shields, the central white enameled medallion shows the iconography of St. Sava, delicately painted by hand with fine details, surrounded by the inscription “троvломb сконмb вbса прнобрвте” on blue enamels, the reverse plain, with a barrel hinge, measuring 74.90 mm (w) x 80.44 mm (h), hallmarked on pin with maker R.K. denoting  Karl Fleischhacker and Viennese silver fineness "A", with light enamel wear, and pleasing toning, extremely fine.
