Serbia, Kingdom. A Rare Order of the Karađorđe’s Star, III Class, with Swords and 2nd. Award, c.1917

 (Orden Karađorđeve Zvezde). Instituted on April 15th, 1904. (c. 1917 issue). Military Division. Unmarked but typical Bertrand, Paris construction, of gilded silver and multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a white enameled Cross Pattée with rays in the quadrants between the arms of the cross as well as crossed swords, the obverse with a central blue enameled medallion bearing a white enameled Serbian Cross, surrounded by a broad white enameled ring inscribed by the Words “For Faith and Freedom 1804” in script, the reverse with a central circular red enameled medallion bearing a Serbian double-headed eagle, surrounded by a broad blue enameled ring inscribed “Peter I” and dated “1904”, suspended from a hollow swivel crown decorated with red, green, and white enamels  and a loop with oak leaf clusters (denoting a Second Award!), from a period-original neck ribbon, measuring 48.5 mm (w) x 78.6 mm (l), slight enamel restoration, in very fine condition, very attractive and Rare.
