Serbia, Kingdom. An Order of the Star of Karageorge, III. Class with Swords, Model II, c. 1915

(Orden Karadjordjeve Zvezde). Instituted April 15th, 1904. A Cross Pattée with white enameled arms, with rays emanating from the center and with silver crossed swords in the quadrants in-between the arms of the cross, the obverse with a dark blue enameled central medallion bearing the Serbian Coat of Arms in multi-coloured enamels, surrounded by a white enameled ring circumscribed in Serbian script, the reverse with a dark red enameled central medallion bearing a Serbian eagle in white enamels, surrounded by a ring of blue enamels inscribed in Serbian script and dated “1904”, on a hollow gilded silver crown and swivel ring for suspension from a correct modern replacement ribbon, unmarked but undoubtedly manufactured by Arthus Bertrand of Paris, measuring 37.3 mm (w) x 60.3 mm (l), weighing 24.29 grams, a fine award in near mint condition.
