(Орден Святого Станислава). Instituted in 1765 in Poland and adopted in 1831 as an Imperial Russian Order. An 14kt Gold Maltese Cross with ball finials and fans along the outer edges of the arms and with small gilded Russian Imperial eagles in the quadrants between the arms of the cross, the obverse with a central white enamelled medallion bearing a hand-painted set of “SS” lettering surrounded by a green enamelled laurel wreath, the reverse with a matching hand-painted white painted central medallion, marked with a Russian Gold 56 hallmark on the reverse of the top arm denoting 14Kt, and “BA” and “Эдуард” (“Eduard”) on the reverse of the arms, suspended from a dual set of swivel rings for suspension from its period original neck ribbon, suspension, arms, and two ball finals marked with dianakopf, measuring 49.4 mm (w) x 53.6 mm (l), weighing 22.3 grams, worn on a segment of original ribbon, in near extremely fine condition.
