For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
(Императорский Орден Св. Анны). Instituted May 1735 by Emperor Paul I. Civil Division. In Gold (stones/gems set in silver, as was a common practice at the time); a red enameled cross with silver arabesque designs featuring five large and numerous small simili (synthetic) white stones in each quadrant, the obverse medallion features a hand painted medallion of St. Anne, surrounded by a ring of 16 simili stones (one replaced with a natural old diamond at 10 o’clock), the reverse medallion in white enamels with the hand painted initials A.I.P.F (Anna Imperatoris Petri Filia), the reverse of the arabesques have hand etched detailing, suspended by a silver and gold suspension loop featuring 9 large simili stones, the 12 o’clock arm is privately jeweler marked "637", measures 52.9mm (w) x 88.3mm (h - inclusive of loop with decorative stones), weighs 41.3 grams, enamels intact, lovely toning to silver, a rare decoration, in extremely fine condition and very desirable.
Footnote: The Order of St. Anne was founded in memory of Schleswig-Holstein's wife Anna Petrovna (daughter of Peter the Great). Emperor Paul I established the Order as purely Russian. It was initially awarded for distinguished civil merit, and was expanded as a military award for war service after 1855. From 1796 to 1828, the I and II Class Badges have versions that are decorated with brilliants. After 1828, I and II Class Badges with brilliants were only awarded to foreign dignitaries.
