Russia, Imperial. An Order of Saint Stanislav, III Class in Gold

Instituted 1831. In 14K Gold, a red enamelled Maltese cross with ball finials, half arches in the knees, and eagles in each quadrant, the obverse medallion with the SS insignia of Saint Stanislav encircled by a green enamel wreath, the reverse arms plane with the white and red enamelled SS medallion, measures 42.2 mm (w) x 44.6 mm (h), weighs 10.9 grams, gold marked on the suspension ring denoting St. Petersburg manufacture from 1908-1917, partial Diana’s head mark on the reverse of the 3 o’clock ball finial, partial mark on the suspension loop, accompanied by a replacement ribbon, enamels in the arms intact, minor loss in the green enamel wreath, light contact marks, remains in extremely fine condition.
