Romania, Kingdom. An Order of the Star of Romania, Knight, by Resch

Instituted on May 10, 1877. In silver gilt, a blue enamel cross with a cluster smooth rays in each quadrant, the obverse medallion features a superimposed eagle on a red enamelled field, surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed IN FIDE SALUS, encircled by a green enamelled wreath, the reverse bears the crowned monogram of King Carol I, the cross is surmounted by a large crown, measures 43.6 mm (w) x 65.0 mm (h - inclusive of crown suspension), maker marked on the base of the 6 o’clock arm denoting RESCH, marked with Romanian silver hallmark denoting 800 silver fineness, with an A denoting Budapest manufacture, worn on a thick replacement ribbon, small enamel flakes and chips on arms, significant enamel damage to obverse medallion, in very fine condition.
