(Ordine Supremo della Santissima Annunziata). Instituted in 1362. In silver gilt, unmarked but likely manufactured by Cravanzola of Rome, measuring 14 mm (w) x 13.8 mm (h), with pinback, sewn in place to its original dark red ribbon, extremely fine.

Footnote: The Supreme Order of the Most Holy Annunciation is a Roman Catholic order of knighthood, originating in Savoy in 1362. It eventually was the pinnacle of the honours system in the Kingdom of Italy, awarded for distinguished service to the Kingdom. It ceased to be a national order when the Kingdom became a Republic in 1946. Today, the order continues as a dynastic order under the jurisdiction of the Head of the House of Savoy, Amedeo, 5th Duke of Aosta, who is the order's hereditary Sovereign and Grand Master.
