Measuring 297 mm in length with the scabbard on, this dagger features a 165 mm long nickel-plated steel blade, magnetic, with unsharpened edges, remaining bright and crisp, and having a sharp tip. It exhibits scratching overall, yet it is free of flaking and pitting, with a natural shine, near extremely fine. Violet felt washer shows wear. Crossguard, ferrule, grip spine and pommel in bronze gilt, the pommel nut in bronze, the pommel illustrating an eagle's head with feathering forming the grip spine, the wooden grip is painted black with seven recessed grooves, each of the grooves with two rows of straight wire flanking a row of twisted wire, the wires in also in bronze gilt, the dagger measuring 283 mm in length. Accompanied by its dark brown leather scabbard, with reinforced stitching on the sides, the stitching coming away slightly near the opening, black leather belt strap dual-riveted to the reverse of the scabbard, the scabbard exhibiting wear at the tip on both sides and crazing in the leather throughout, measuring 177 mm in length. Near extremely fine. Also included is a Headquarters Rome Area MTOUSA (Mediterranean Theater of Operations, United States Army) Enlisted Pass Issued to Sergeant Robert J. Stock (numbered "984" and emboss stamped at the upper right, inscribed "This is to certify that SERGEANT ROBERT J. STOCK 7031965 is a member of this command and is authorized to circulate in the ROME Area at any time on official business. BY COMMAND OF BRIGADIER GENERAL BROWN", signed by Sergeant Robert J. Stock and Captain Charles K. Kansler, stamped in black ink "279th M.P. Co." (279th Military Police Company, Rome, Italy) on the reverse, printed in black ink on a greenish-gray card stock, 70 mm x 97 mm); a 50 Lire Allied Military Currency Note (marked "ISSUED IN ITALY", serial number "A56500301A" in red, printed in black and blue inks on a white paper stock, 65 mm x 150 mm); and a 5 Lire Allied Military Currency Note (marked "ISSUED IN ITALY", serial number "A78470038A" in red, printed in black, brown and green inks on a white paper stock, 66 mm x 79 mm).
