Instituted March 3, 1951. In silver gilt, a white enamelled cross with eagles in each quadrant, the obverse medallion featuring a five point star, reverse mirrors the obverse, surmounted by a mural crown, measures 46.3 mm (w) x 62.4 mm (h), worn on a replacement ribbon, enamels intact, loss of gilt near edges, in extremely fine condition.
Accompanied by a miniature in silver gilt and white enamels, and buttonhole boutonniere, both in very fine condition.
Contained in an original case of issue, green leatherette exterior, interior with creme coloured silk and velvet medalbed, lid marked 1836 JOHNSON MILANO ROMA, measures 121.4 mm (w) x 142.1 mm (h) x 26.1 mm (d), clasp functional, in extremely fine condition.
