Description

(Medaglia Militare Aeronautica di Lungi Navigazione Aerea). Instituted in 1953. In silver, engraver marked "P. MORBI - DVCCI" on the obverse, marked "986" (silver) and Royal Mint marked "Z" on the reverse, measuring 35.8 mm (w) x 41 mm (h) inclusive of its integral suspension, edge nicks, eagle clasp affixed to its original ribbon, near extremely fine.

Footnote: The Medal for Military Aeronautical Long Service was instituted in 1953, to replace the award created in 1926 that bore the portrait of King Vittorio Emanuele III and is awarded for long service in the air force, the Silver Grade indicating fifteen years' service.
