(Magyar Honvédség). Dagger is chrome-plated steel, with an extremely sharp tip, both sides with a raised ridge in the centre and bevelled, deeming it double-edged and diamond-crossed, magnetic, the blade measuring 260 mm in length. Crossguard in bronze gilt, the obverse of which bears the Hungarian coat-of-arms fronting a stylized design, reverse with the same stylized design, the handle in black bakelite, the pommel in bronze gilt and exhibiting the same stylized design as that used on the crossguard, the entire dagger inclusive of its blade and handle measuring 385 mm in length. It is housed in its original scabbard, the wood core body covered in black leatherette, two bronze gilt hanger bands with flattened ball finials containing hanger rings, bronze gilt chape finished with a square finial, the two hanger bands and the chape exhibiting similar designs as that used on the dagger fixtures, the scabbard measuring 297 mm in length. The dagger is housed in its case of issue, wooden-framed, red simulated leather covering on five sides, the insignia on the cover bearing the Hungarian coat-of-arms backed by crossed swords and flanked by oak leaves on both sides affixed to the cover, black simulated leather covering on the bottom, inside lid in red rayon, the medal bed in red cotton and designed with a series of folds and pleats, both the inside lid and medal bed trimmed on the edges in a red, white and blue cord, bronze gilt clasp closure, the case measuring 465 mm in height x 112 mm in width x 43 mm in height. Near extremely fine.

The Ministry of Defence maintains political and civil control over the army. A subordinate Joint Forces Command is coordinating and commanding the HDF corps.
