Instituted June 19, 1923. In silver gilt, a white enamel cross with green enamel border, crossed swords in each quadrant, the obverse medallion featuring a Lorraine Cross on a red enamelled field, encircled by a War Decoration in the form of a green wreath, the reverse medallion in silver gilt bearing the inscription SI DEUS PRO NOBIS QUIS CONTRA NOS 1922, worn on a red ribbon with white and green stripe at the edge (specific to War Decoration crosses), measures 42.8 mm (w) x 47.5 mm (h - inclusive of integral ball suspension), weighs 33.3 grams (including ribbon), exhibiting light gilt wear, enamels intact, in extremely fine condition.
Accompanied by the case of issue, a red leatherette exterior exhibiting the insignia of the order, the interior with a creme coloured silk lid, velvet bed, measures 66 mm (w) x 110 mm (h) 20 mm (d), minor wear, clasp slightly loose but still functioning, in near extremely fine condition.
