(Magyar Érdemrend). Instituted in 1922. Five-piece construction, in silver gilt with red, white and green enamels, unmarked, measuring 48.8 mm (w) x 49 mm (h), vertical pinback, crazing evident in the white enamels on the arm at 9 o'clock, with some spotting present on all arms, otherwise the enamels are intact, better than very fine. Footnote: The Order of Merit was instituted on June 14, 1922. It was awarded in Civil and Military Divisions, some with a Crown and/or War Decoration, in five classes, along with Gold, Silver and Bronze Grade Merit Crosses, plus Silver and Bronze Grade Merit Medals.
