Description

Constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, consisting of an Arrow Cross, the obverse with green enameled arms overlaid by a central silvered inscription of “KISTARCSA”, with integral loops affixed to the lower edge of the three and nine o’clock arms to accommodate a multi-link chain, unmarked, measuring 32 mm (w) x 32 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

Footnote: Kistarcsa is notable as the site of a concentration camp initially housing leftist and other political opponents of the regime of Miklós Horthy, before Arrow Cross officials and German authorities expanded the camp to include Jews and other victims. It later served an internment camp for political prisoners under the People’s Republic of Hungary.
