Hungary, Kingdom. A Rare Peoples’ Federation of Germans in Hungary Membership Badge

(Volksbund der Deutschen in Ungarn Mitgliedsabzeichen). Constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse bearing a white enameled disc overlaid by a gilded sunwheel-style gilt mobile swastika, set within a red enameled ring bearing a gilt inscription of “VOLKSBUND DER DEUTSCHEN IN UNGARN” (“PEOPLES’ FEDERATION OF GERMANS IN HUNGARY”), the reverse with horizontal pinback, the reverse maker marked “RK” (possibly for Rudolf Karneth, Gablonz), measuring 23 mm in diameter, demonstrating minor flecking throughout the enamels, with minor loss of gilt finish to the base metal, in extremely fine condition.
