A well-preserved edition of “The British Soldier’s Firearm, 1850-1864: From Smooth-Bore to Small-Bore”, by C.H. Roads. It is constructed of a heavy card stock binding and retains its original paper stock dust jacket, with the exterior of the cover bearing frontal and reverse images of a British soldiers flanked by author and title. The reverse features advertisements for works of similar interest. The interior content consists of 332 paginated white paper pages, encompassing both a comprehensive study of period British military firearms, supplemented by 360 black-and-white photographs, as well as an index. It was published in 1964 by Herbert Jenkins, Limited, of London. The book measures 160 mm (w) x 238 mm (h). Moderate material fatigue is evident, the the dust jacket has been taped to the binding with two lengths of transparent packing tape. It is in an overall very fine condition.
