Military Cross, George V (in silver, measuring 21.5 mm (w) x 24.7 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring); British War Medal (in silver, measuring 18 mm in diameter); and Victory Medal (in bronze gilt, measuring 17.8 mm in diameter). Court-mounted to a suspension with swing bar pinback, as worn by the veteran, very light contact, original ribbons, near extremely fine.
Footnote: William John Keeling, Lincolnshire Regiment was named a Temporary 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), effective January 20, 1916, the announcement appearing in the Second Supplement to the London Gazette 29444 of Tuesday, January 18, 1916, on Thursday, January 20, 1916, page 832. Temporary 2nd Lieutenant William John Keeling, Lincolnshire Regiment was awarded the Military Cross, his citation appearing in the Supplement to the London Gazette 29968 of Friday, March 2, 1917, on Saturday, March 3, 1917, page 2194: "For conspicuous gallantry in action. He displayed great courage and determination in establishing bombing posts at a critical time, working under very heavy fire and most trying conditions. He set a fine example to his men."
