Description

Instituted in 1962. 2 Clasps - BORNEO, MALAY PENINSULA (J.984152 W.G. DICK. A.B. R.N.). In silver, measuring 36.3 mm in diameter. Naming is officially impressed. Court-mounted, original ribbon, mounting with a black felt backer, extremely fine.

Footnote: The General Service Medal 1962-2007 was awarded for service in particular areas/actions not marked by their own medal, but by a clasp on this one, since 1962. The Borneo clasp was issued for service in North Borneo, Sarawak and Brunei between December 24, 1962 and August 11, 1966. The Malay Peninsula clasp was issued for thirty days' service in the Malay Peninsula and Singapore area between August 17, 1964 and August 11, 1966.
