Description

Egypt Medal 1882-1889, undated reverse (T.W. EAGLE, GUNr R.M.A. H.M.S. CARYSFORT.); Khedive's Star 1882-1891; and East and West Africa Medal 1887-1900, 1 Clasp - SUAKIN 1885 (T.W. EAGLE, GUNr R.M.A. H.M.S. BOADICEA.). Naming is officially impressed in large capitals on the Egypt Medal and the East and West Africa Medal, the Khedive's Star is unnamed as issued. Un-mounted, the two silver medals exhibit pitting, bruising, edge nicks, along with contact overall, the bronze Khedive's Star with spotting, replacement ribbons, very fine.

Footnote: Gunner Thomas William Eagle was born November 16th 1861 at Bethnal Green, London. He was awarded two good conduct badges but his conduct was only "Fair". He under went five periods of cell punishment. During his service in HMS Crarysfort he was present during the operations in the Sudan for which he received the Egypt medal and the Khedives Star. He was discharged in Bermuda on completion of 12 years in 1893.
