Two Second War British "Bomber Command" Publications

First book is entitled "Bomber Command: The Air Ministry Account of Bomber Command's Offensive Against the Axis, September, 1939 - July, 1941", inscribed "Issued by the Air Ministry by the Ministry of Information" and printed by His Majesty's Stationery Office, London, marked "First published 1941". Front and back covers illustrating an aerial view graphic of a bomber flying at night, with various flak coming from the ground below, the inside cover with nine quotes, the inside back cover with a quote from the "Book of Wisdom, chap. V, 21", printed in red, blue, yellow and black inks, on a thick white paper stock. It contains 128 pages on a semi-gloss off-white paper stock, with sixteen chapters, entitled: I - War Telegram; II - Captains and Crews; III - First Blood: Attacks on the German Fleet; IV - White Bombs: The Leaflet Raids; V - Campaign Against Odds: Norway; VI - Western Front: The Battle of Flanders; VII - Long Distance Attack; VIII - Mining the Enemy's Coast; IX - Why the Invasion Armada Never Sailed; X - Day Offensive in the North Sea; XI - The Battle of the Atlantic; XII - The Mind that Plans: Operations Control; XIII - The Crew that Strikes: Night Raid; XIV - The Attack on Nazi Industry; XV - The Damage in Germany; XVI - One Thing is Certain. It also has eighty-seven black and white photographs (many of which are aerial views) and four maps (The North Sea Areas; The Campaign in Flanders; The Enemy's Atlantic Bases, The Raids on Germany) spread throughout the book, is glue-bound and measures 177 mm x 225 mm, with wear and slight tearing evident on the spine. The Air Ministry Account of the Rising Offensive Against Germany, July 1941 - June 1942", inscribed "Issued by the Air Ministry by the Ministry of Information" and printed by His Majesty's Stationery Office, London, marked "First published 1942". Front cover illustrating a Royal Air Force roundel and entitled "BOMBER COMMAND CONTINUES", back cover giving a brief synopsis of the contents with the price "7d NET", inside front and back cover with a map of Northern Europe, the map marked with a series of radiating circles from the British Isles with a range of 350 miles into German airspace, printed in red and blue inks, on a thick white paper stock. It contains 56 pages on a newsprint stock, with thirteen chapters, entitled: 1. T. 2619 Flies home; 2. The Building of a Bomber; 3. Giants in the Making: The Stirlings; 4. The Story Continued: The Assault on the Sea-Bases; 5. "I Chose a Ship..."; 6. Maschinen Fabrik Augsberg; 7. Help to Russia; 8. Bombing by Day; 9. The Greater Offensive Opens: Bostons Over France; 10. It also has eight pages with eleven black and white photographs in the centre on a white paper stock, is dual staple-bound and measures 133 mm x 205 mm. Better than very fine.
