United Kingdom. A China Medal to Sowar Suraya Singh, 2rd Bombay Light Cavalry

 Instituted 1901. In silver, full size, rim Indian Army engraved 2602 Sowar Suraya Singh 3d Bo Lt Cavy, light wear and contact marks evident, remains very fine. 

Footnote: The 3rd Bombay Light Cavalry, part of the Bombay Army (later merged into the Indian Army), was one of the Indian cavalry regiments deployed to China in 1900 as part of the British contingent in the international relief force. Indian troops played a major role in guarding supply lines, maintaining order, and assisting in the relief of besieged foreign legations at Peking (Beijing). The China War Medal 1900 was awarded to both British and Indian troops.
