In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
Instituted in 1880. In silver, the obverse bearing the head of Queen Victoria facing left inscribed VICTORIA REGINA around the perimeter, the reverse bearing a crouching lion on a plinth in front of a bush inscribed "SOUTH AFRICA'' around the top perimeter, rim officially engraved 1210 PTE J. ALLEN O.B.A.S.C., with tailor’s copy clasp 1879, suspension slightly bent, minor marks, two notable edge bruises near the N of ALLEN, in near extremely fine condition.
Footnote: Awarded to Private Allen, service number 1210, of the Ordnance Branch Army Service Corps, in recognition of service during the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879. The South Africa Medal 1879 was issued to British and colonial troops who participated in the campaign.
The Ordnance Branch of the Army Service Corps played a vital logistical role during the First Boer War, ensuring the supply and maintenance of military stores under often difficult campaign conditions. Responsible for the provision of ammunition, equipment, transport materials, and camp necessities, the branch operated in close coordination with frontline units across the rugged terrain of the Transvaal and Natal. Despite the relatively small scale of the conflict, the challenges of distance, inadequate infrastructure, and irregular supply lines placed significant strain on ordnance personnel, whose efficiency was essential to sustaining British operations in a theatre marked by mobility and unpredictability.
