In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
In silver, full size, rim impressed W. KELLY. FMN. M.F.A., small scratches and edge bruises, lovely toning, very fine.
Footnote: The Military Foot Artillery (M.F.A.) was the heavy artillery arm of the Royal Artillery during the First World War, responsible for operating large-calibre guns and howitzers used in siege warfare and long-range bombardment. M.F.A. units manned weapons such as 6-inch, 8-inch, and 9.2-inch guns, carrying out counter-battery fire and the destruction of enemy trenches, strongpoints, and artillery positions, often from well behind the front lines. Although positioned away from the infantry, their work was dangerous and physically demanding, involving the handling of extremely heavy ammunition and constant exposure to enemy counter-fire. The rank of Fireman, shown in medal naming as “Fmn.”, was the artillery equivalent of Private and covered men engaged in loading, laying, maintaining the guns, and constructing emplacements. In wartime records and medal naming the abbreviation M.F.A. is frequently encountered and is closely associated with the Royal Garrison Artillery, reflecting the crucial role heavy artillery played in shaping the conduct and outcome of trench warfare from 1915 onwards.
