1914-15 Star (in bronze gilt, measuring 20 mm (w) x 24.5 mm (h)); British War Medal (in silver, measuring 17.5 mm in diameter); Victory Medal (in bronze gilt, measuring 18 mm in diameter); India General Service Medal 1908-1935, George V, 1 Clasp - AFGHANISTAN N.W.F. 1919 (in silver, measuring 17.7 mm in diameter); General Service Medal 1918-1962, George V, 1 Clasp - IRAQ (in silver, measuring 17.8 mm in diameter); King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Coronation Medal 1937 (in silver, measuring 17.5 mm in diameter); Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Medal 1953 (in silver, measuring 18 mm in diameter); and United States: Medal of Freedom with Bronze Palm 1945 (in bronze gilt, measuring 18 mm in diameter). Mounted to a suspension with swing bar pinback, as worn by the veteran, surface wear evident on the obverse of the Star, contact marks on the IGSM and GSM, original ribbons, gilt wear present on the Medal of Freedom, better than very fine.

Footnote: Frank Burns Webb was born on October 2, 1896 at Newton, Manchester, the son of Robert William Webb and Kate Webb (née Duffy). He was commissioned on October 10, 1915 into the Royal Lancashire Regiment, being promoted to Lieutenant on September 7, 1916. 2nd Lieutenant Webb was wounded twice during the First World War. Serving in France and Belgium, he was twice wounded in action in 1916, serving later that year in Egypt, and transferring to the 3rd/8th Gurkha Rifles in August 1917. He was made Acting Captain in 1918, and served in Afghanistan in 1919 and in Iraq in 1920. Webb received the 1914-15 Star in the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, the British War Medal and the Victory Medal in the rank of 2nd Captain, the India General Service Medal 1908-1935 with Afghanistan N.W.F. 1919 clasp and the General Service Medal 1918-1962 with Iraq clasp in the rank of Captain. He passed the Army Staff College and the Royal Air Force Staff College, and was appointed General Staff Officer (Grade 2) in 1932. He was made a Brevet Major while at Headquarters in India in 1933. He served as Assistant Secretary to the Committee of Imperial Defence in London, brevetted Lieutenant-Colonel in 1936, and was promoted to General Staff Officer (Grade 1) as Senior Secretary in 1938-1939. Captain Webb retired on June 12, 1939, only to return to serve in various high-level military administration roles during the Second World War. In 1949, he was transferred to the Munitions Supply Division, and remained in similar oversight roles until around 1960, when he appears to have retired for a second time.
