A 1914 Star, in bronze, reverse impressed 16563 SAPR. W. H. ATKINSON. R.E., with 5TH AUG-22ND NOV 1914 clasp, full size, minor wear, extremely fine.
A British War Medal, in silver, rim impressed 16563 SPR. W.H. ATKINSON. R.E., light wear, nice patina, very fine.
A Victory Medal, in bronze gilt, rim impressed 16563 SPR. W.H. ATKINSON. R.E., notable gilt wear, very fine.
A 1939–1945 Star, in bronze gilt, light wear, very fine.
An Africa Star, in bronze gilt, light wear, very fine.
A Defence Medal, in cupro-nickel, light contact, very fine.
A War Medal, in cupro-nickel, minor wear, very fine.
A George V Jubilee Medal, in silver, darker patina to right side, light contact, very fine.
A George VI 1937 Coronation Medal, in silver, light wear, very fine.
An Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, George V, rim impressed 18521006 W.O. CL. 2. W.H. ATKINSON. R.E., dark patina on the right half, light contact, very fine.
Footnote: William Henry Atkinson was born about 1893 in Leeds. In the 1911 census, he was located at the Barracks of the Royal Engineers. His occupation at the time was listed as “Dynamo Attend” Sapper W. H. Atkinson is on the medal roll for the 1914 Star, as he disembarked on November 5, 1914, with the Royal Engineers, 15th Field Company.
A W.H. Atkinson is also listed as a Lieutenant with the Royal Engineers during the Second War.
