Schaumburg-Lippe, Principality. A House Order of the Honour Cross, IV Class Miniature

(Fürstlich Lippischer Hausorden Ehrenkreuz III. Klasse Miniatur). Instituted 25 Oktober 1869 by Prince Leopold III of Lippe-Detmold and Prince Adolf Georg I Schaumburg-Lippe. (1890-1918 issue). Constructed of silver with Gold and multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebble arms, the obverse bearing a central eight-pointed radiant starburst, overlaid by a Gold medallion featuring a central white enameled disc overlaid by a Lippe rose, situated within a ring of blue enamel bearing a gilt inscription of “FÜR TREUE UND VERDIENST” (“FOR LOYALTY AND SERVICE”), the reverse bearing a central eight-pointed radiant starburst, overlaid by a Gold medallion featuring a blue enameled disc defaced by a gilt monogram of PRince Adolf Georg I, the twelve o’clock arm topped by a ribbed fan suspension culminating in an integral loop, unmarked, measuring 15.00 mm (w) x 17.43 mm (h), weighing 1.9 grams, a fine quality miniature in extremely fine condition.
