Germany, Wehrmacht. A Rare Heer/Luftwaffe Marsh Pattern Camouflage Helmet Cover

(Wehrmacht Stahlhelm-Tarnbezug). A rare and extremely well-preserved Heer/Luftwaffe camouflage helmet cover, constructed of a multi-piece rayon structure secured together along the seams with double rows of machine stitching. It is dyed on the exterior in a classic 44-style Sumpfmuster (Marsh Pattern) mottle. Six integrated and reinforced loops are distributed around the circumference of the crown for the insertion of vegetation for additional stealth. A functional twine drawstring is set within the rim and emanates from the reverse of the interior for a fully adjustable fit. The cover is fully unmarked and measures approximately 310 mm (w) x 195 mm (h) when folded flat. Two small holes are evident to the left side, but are visible only upon close inspection. A rare example of a late-war helmet cover in extremely fine condition.
