(Auszeichnungen). A mixed lot of decorations, including:
1. A 1939 Iron Cross II Class, constructed of iron and silver, on loop for suspension from an incorrect War Merit Cross ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central mobile swastika, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the suspension loop maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “120” for Franz Petzl, Vienna, measuring 43.94 mm (w) x 48.87 mm (h), weighing 21.4 grams (inclusive of ribbon), demonstrating some scratching to the core with consistent tarnishing throughout the frame, accompanied by a length of 1939 Iron Cross II Class ribbon, in better than very fine condition.
2. A Spanish Volunteer Medal, constructed of bronzed zink, on loop for suspension from an incorrect War Merit Medal ribbon, the obverse bearing a central raised sword overlaid by shields bearing raised Heer and Falange insignia, topped by a Stahlhelm, and situated above a swastika flanked by clutches of laurel leaves, the reverse bearing an inscription of “DIVISIÓN ESPAÑOLA DE VOLUNTARIOS EN RUSIA” (“DIVISION OF SPANISH VOLUNTEERS IN RUSSIA”), above an Iron Cross topped by laurel branches, unmarked, measuring 32.52 mm in diameter, weighing 13.1 grams, demonstrating total loss of bronze finish throughout, in very fine condition.
3. An Eastern Peoples Bravery Decoration, II Class in Silver, constructed of silvered zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse consisting of an eight-pointed radiant star, bearing a central raised rosette, situated within a circular laurel leaf wreath joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the suspension loop maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “100” for Wächtler & Lange, Mittweida, measuring 39.65 mm (w) x 45.43 mm (h), weighing 14.6 grams, demonstrating moderate loss of silver finish through the base metal in addition to some fraying of the threading which secures the ribbon’s pin in place, in very fine condition.
4. A West Wall Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension, consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at both the top and bottom by ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised pillbox, topped by a crossed sword and shovel and a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR ARBEIT ZUM SCHUTZE DEUTSCHLANDS” (“FOR WORK IN THE PROTECTION OF GERMANY”), unmarked, measuring 33.55 mm (w) x 45.75 mm (h), weighing 18.1 grams, in extremely fine condition.
