Germany, Third Reich. A Sudetenland Medal, with Prague Castle Bar and Case

(Die Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938 mit Spange Prager Burg und Etui). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon pinned with Prague Castle Bar, the obverse bearing two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central date of “1. OKTOBER 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER” (“ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE LEADER”), unmarked, measuring 32.20 mm in diameter, weighing 18.4 grams (inclusive of ribbon and bar), accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a pressed card stock frame with a faux maroon leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted maroon velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 48 mm (w) x 100 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
