Germany, Third Reich. A Sudetenland Medal, with Prague Castle Bar and Case, by Deschler & Sohn

(Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938 mit Spange Prager Burg und Etui). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with Prague Castle, the obverse bearing two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flat and the other a length of broken chain, the reverse bearing a central date of “1. OKTOBER 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER” (“ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE LEADER”), unmarked, the medal measuring 32.02 mm in diameter, the bar measuring 31.03 mm (w) x 10.95 mm (h), weighing 19.2 grams overall (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a pressed card stock frame with a faux maroon leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the interior with a white rayon lid liner bearing a maker’s mark of “DESCHLER & SOHN, MÜNCHEN”, with a slotted maroon velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, measuring 50 mm (w) x 100 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), in overall near extremely fine condition.
