Germany, Third Reich. A Railway Official’s Belt and Buckle, by F.W. Assman & Söhne

(Reichsbahn Koppelschloss und Gürtel). A Reichsbahn (State Railway) official’s belt and buckle, the former constructed of blackened leather, one end retaining a reverse brown leather tongue perforated with ten sets of dual eyelets for an adjustable fit, the tongue stamped with a size mark of “100”, measuring 4.5 cm (w) x 97 cm (l), demonstrating age-appropriate desiccation and fatigue, in very fine condition; the latter constructed of gilded aluminum, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, surrounding a pebbled field bearing a raised Reichsbahn insignia in the form of a winged wheel topped by a mobile swastika, the reverse with dual loops (one sliding along the belt and the other stitched directly to the belt), maker marked with the logo of F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, measuring 50 mm in diameter, demonstrating minor loss of finish to high-contact points, in extremely fine condition.
