(Medaillen mit Etui). A pair of service medals, including:
1. A Sudetenland Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing two raised figures one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broke chain, above a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central raised date of “1. OKTOBER 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER” (“ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE LEADER”), unmarked, measuring 32.02 mm in diameter, 14.5 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux red leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and slotted maroon felt medal bed, closing a metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 50 mm (w) x 105 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), demonstrating some tarnishing to the medal with material fatigue through the case resulting in the partial detachment of the hinge, in very fine condition.
2. A Civil Service 40-Year Long Service Award, constructed of gilded bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms joined through the quadrants by a circular oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a central black enameled swastika, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 41.42 mm (w) x 46.24 mm (h), weighing 24.5 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux red leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt number “40” situated within an oak leaf wreath, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, the former bearing a maker’s mark of “DESCHLER & SOHN, MÜNCHEN”, with a slotted maroon felt medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 50 mm (w) x 102 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
