Germany, Third Reich. A Lot of Four Medals, Awards, and Badges

A lot of four medals, awards, and badges, consisting of:

1. An 8-Year Long Service Medal, III. Class. (Dienstauszeichnung der Polizei III. Klasse für 8 Jahre). Instituted January 30th, 1938. A circular silvered tombac medal, on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon featuring a functional sewn-on horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing a central raised Ordnungspolizei insignia in the form of an oval oak wreath overlaid by a German National eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central raised number “8”, circumscribed by an inscription of “Für Treue Dienste in der Polizei” (For Faithful Service in the Police) in German Fraktur script, unmarked, measuring 38.0 mm in diameter, weighing 28.60 24.40 grams.

2. A Civil Service 25-Year Faithful Service Award. (Treudienst Ehrenzeichen II. Stufe für 25 Jahre). Instituted January 30th, 1938. Constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from a period replacement ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms joined through the quadrants by a circular oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a central black enameled mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 42.3 mm (w) x 42.2 mm (l), weighing 21.31 grams.

3. A Wehrmacht Long Service Decoration, IV. Class for 4 Years. (Wehrmacht Dienstauszeichnung, IV. Klasse für 4 Jahre). Instituted March 16th, 1936. A circular silvered magnetic medal, on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon featuring a Wehrmacht National Eagle miniature, the obverse bearing a raised Heer-style German National eagle clutching a mobile swastika, circumscribed by an inscription of “Treue Dienste in der Wehrmacht” (Faithful Service in the Wehrmacht) in German Fraktur script, the reverse with a central raised number “4” set within a circular oak wreath, unmarked, measuring 29.9 mm in diameter, weighing 13.62 grams inclusive of its ribbon.

4. A War Merit Medal (Kriegsverdienstmedaille). A circular bronze medal, the obverse depicting a Maltese Cross with a slightly grainy texture with a central mobile swastika within an oak wreath, the reverse inscribed “Für Kriegsverdienst 1939” (For War Merit 1939) in German Fraktur script, measuring 32.2 mm in diameter, weighing 12.75 grams.
