(Waffen-SS Porträts). A mixed lot of portraits, including:
1. A studio portrait of a young 3rd SS Panzer Division Totenkopf Mann in uniform and with collar tabs discernable, wearing an overseas cap with Totenkopf and eagle insignias visible in excellent detail, the reverse in postcard format and bearing a handwritten dedication from the subject named as “HELMUT”, dated Easter 1942, stamped with a Warsaw studio mark, measuring 8.5 cm (w) x 14 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
2. A studio portrait of a Waffen-SS Sturmmann in a late-issue tunic situated over non-regulation undergarments, wearing a visor cap with the interior ring removed to give the crown a crusher appearance, the former pinned with Totenkopf and eagle insignias, the lower right corner bearing a Riga studio mark, the reverse in unused postcard format, measuring 8.5 cm (w) x 13.5 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
3. A studio portrait of a Waffen-SS Mann with a female companion, the lower right corner bearing an embossed studio mark, the reverse in postcard format and bearing a brief handwritten dedication to the subject’s brother, with an additional handwritten name of “EWALD”, printed on Voigtländer paper, measuring 9 cm (w) x 14 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
4. A small field portrait of a Waffen-SS Mann wearing a Stahlhelm, the latter clearly displaying an SS decal, the reverse bearing an illegible short inscription, printed on Agfa-Brovira paper, measuring 6.5 cm (w) x 9.5 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
