Description

(HIAG Suchdienst Papier). A HIAG (Mutual Aid Association of Former Waffen-SS Members) Tracing Service file for SS-Sturmmann Martin Geiger, who was born on 6 February 1909 in Liebling-Banat (Romania), and who served with the 8th SS Cavalry Division Florian Geyer (Kavallerie-Regiment 15). His last known whereabouts were in Budapest on 16 December 1944, during the Red Army’s siege of that city. The request for information was filed by Maria Geiger, presumably his wife or mother. The file retains a black-and-white studio portrait of Geiger wearing a Waffen-SS Enlisted ranks uniform. Measuring 21 cm (w) x 14.5 cm (h), it remains in an extremely fine condition.
