Constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse bearing a raised German national eagle clutching an edelweiss defaced by a Sturmabteilung (SA) insignia, flanked by an inscription of “DER FÜHRER DER SA-GRUPPE HOCHLAND” (“THE LEADER OF SA GROUP HOCHLAND”), circumscribed by an inscription of “WINTERKÄMPFE DER GLIEDERUNGEN DER N.S.D.A.P. OBERSCHREIBERHAU” (“WINTER SPORTS GAMES OF THE DIVISIONS OF THE NSDAP OBERSCHREIBERHAU”), all overlaying a pair of skis, the reverse bearing an engraved dedication to “ROTTENF. PAUL BAUER”, group victor in a 12 kilometer team run, maker marked “CARL POELLATH, SCHROBENHAUSEN”, measuring 90 mm (w) x 100 mm (h), accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a pressed card stock frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and partially-intact hinge cover, with a fitted dark blue velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 125 mm (w) x 125 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), demonstrating minor material fatigue to the case, in overall extremely fine condition
