Germany, RAD. A Rare Vehicle Flag for Inspectors, Arbeitsgau Leaders, and Departmental Chiefs

(Reichsarbeitsdienst Wimpel für Dienstfahrzeuge der Inspekteure bei der Reichsleitung, der Arbeitsgauführer und der Amtchefs). Constructed of a double-overlaid red cotton/rayon blended base, with three edges featuring double-sided black machine-embroidered borders bearing three white bars, overlaid by double-sided central insignia consisting of a red cotton/rayon blended diamond bearing a machine-embroidered black mobile swastika defaced by a central Reichsarbeitsdienst (Reich Labour Service/RAD) insignia, with the upper hoist edge of each side bearing a machine-embroidered white German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, with featuring and details highlighted in gilt, unmarked, measuring 30 cm (w) x 18 cm (h), demonstrating minor soiling and material fatigue throughout, the latter consequent to extracting from a rigid frame formerly securing the flag to the left side fender of a service vehicle used by RAD Headquarter-level Inspectors, Arbeitsgau Leaders, and Departmental Chiefs, a scarce example in better than very fine condition.
