In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps Motorrad Sturzhelm). A well-preserved Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps (National Socialist Motor Corps/NSKK) crash helmet, constructed of boiled and blackened leather shell. The helmet features a padded black leather comb extending across the crown, with an additional tube of identical construction surrounding the rim. It is flanked on each side by a ventilation hole reinforced with non-magnetic metal mesh. Riveted to the peak is a second pattern NSKK-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, constructed of blackened and silvered bronze and measuring 16.5 mm (w) x 9 cm (h) as presented. The exterior features are completed with a narrow, sloping visor similarly constructed of blackened leather. Descending from the interior rim is a blackened leather neck guard featuring hidden earpieces for functionality during wear. When not in use, the flap neatly rolls up and secures in place. Also descending from the rim are blackened leather ear guards complete with flaps which fasten in place with bronze studs. The interior is encompassed by a brown leather liner which culminates in nine fingers, each perforated at the top with eyelets through which is looped and original drawstring. Emanating from the crown is a padded brown leather guard. Stamped onto the reverse of the left ear guard is a partially-legible NSKK unit mark which appears to be attributed to Motorgruppe Leipzig. Also stamped onto the liner is a size mark of “58”. The helmet measures approximately 21 cm (w) x 26 cm (l) x 16 cm (h) (inclusive of visor and comb). Minor, age-appropriate material fatigue is evident to the helmet, while the peak insignia demonstrates extensive oxidation and loss of finish consistent with storage conditions. The helmet remains in an overall better than very fine condition.
