Germany, NSFK. A Rare National Socialist Flyers Corps Motor Aircraft Pilot’s Badge, Third Pattern

(Flugzeugführerabzeichen für Motorflugzeuge). Instituted July 12th, 1938. (Third Pattern - 1943-1945 Issue). A rare NSFK (National Socialist Flyers Corps/Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps) Motor Aircraft Pilot’s Badge, constructed of zinc, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, topped by a NSFK insignia in the form of Icarus overlaid by a mobile swastika, the wreath overlaid by a central NSFK-style German national eagle on a hollow background, the reverse with a sheet metal barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, engraved with a patent number of “111241”, measuring 52.68 mm (w) x 56.56 mm (h), weighing 24.4 grams, most of the original finish has been lost, in overall near very fine condition.
