Description

(NSFK Segelfliegerabzeichen). Instituted 26 January 1942 by Friedrich Christiansen. (1942-1945). Constructed of silvered iron with enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps (National Socialist Flyers Corps/NSFK) insignia, overlaid by three white enameled gulls, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and flattened vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, bearing an NSFK property mark and award number of “156”, measuring 45.36 mm (w) x 46.40 mm (h), weighing 22.1 grams, some chipping is evident to the bottom gull and the other demonstrate faint cracking and flecking, in very fine condition.
