Germany, NSDAP. A Rare Long Service Award, III Class for 10 Years with Case, by Gebrüder Godet

(Dienstauszeichnung der NSDAP, III. Klasse für 10 Jahre mit Etui). Instituted 2 April 1939. (1939-1945 issue). Constructed of cupal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with ribbed arms joined through the quadrants by stylized rays, the obverse bearing a central circular oak leaf wreath overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central circular oak leaf wreath, surrounding a central inscription of “TREUE FÜR FÜHRER UND VATERLAND” (“LOYALTY FOR FÜHRER AND FATHERLAND”), the suspension loop maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “21” for Gebrüder Godet, Berlin, measuring 47.03 mm (w) x 47.32 mm (h), weighing 14.1 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, of two-piece card stock construction, the exterior with a faux brown leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, unmarked, measuring 52 mm (w) x 95 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), demonstrating some surface oxidation throughout the award, a scarce cupal variant in extremely fine condition.
