(Kraftwagenstander für Kreisleiter). An early variant, first pattern, of multi-piece construction, dual-sided Kreisleiter (District Leader) vehicle pennant, featuring a narrow, red outer edge border strip encompassing four, triangular panels with points meeting in the centre, the centre of the pennant features a hand-embroidered, stylized, right-facing (viewer’s left), national eagle with outstretched, squared wings, clutching a wreathed, mobile swastika in its talons, in bright, silvered aluminum flat-wire threads, with black cotton threaded accents, the eagle is flanked by hand-embroidered Gothic/Fraktur style initials “K” and “L” in silver aluminum flat-wire threads, denoting Kreisleiter (District Leader), both sides of the pennant feature the same design, the frame and protective cover are absent, measuring 28.3 cm (w) x 28 cm (h), displays minor soiling on the tan coloured fabric, and is in otherwise overall better than extremely fine condition.
Footnote: NSDAP personnel holding the positions of leader utilized a square pennant on the front right fender of their vehicles to indicate their rank/position.
