Constructed of a wooden frame with a textured faux dark blue leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt inscription of “FALLSCHIRMSCHÜTZEN=ABZEICHEN” in Fraktur script, the interior with a padded purple satin lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted blue velvet medal bed, closing with a functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 75.39 mm (w) x 80.62 mm (l) x 25.02 mm (h), weighing 49.5 grams, the medal bed notably demonstrating an outline that indicates the case may previously have contained a Heer Fallschirmjäger Badge, an early example in extremely fine condition.
