Constructed of pressed card stock with a faux dark blue leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a silvered inscription of “BEOBACHTERABZ.”, the interior with a blue felt lid lid and slotted blue felt medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of a design credited to Gebrüder Wegerhoff, Lüdenscheid, measuring 72 mm (w) x 80 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), demonstrating minor material fatigue to both the interior and exterior, a mid- to late-war example in very fine condition.
