Germany, Imperial. A Rare Naval Sea Pilot’s Award Document Set to Vice-Steuermann Langdorf, with Recipient Photo

(Besitzzeugnis für das Flieger-Abzeichen). A superb award document set to naval aviator Karl LAngdorf, including:

1. An Imperial Naval Sea Pilot’s Badge award document, constructed of off-white paper stock with black ink, named to “VICE-STEUERMANN LANGDORF”, dated 8 June 1915 and certified by the handwritten signature of Konteradmiral Otto Philipp in his capacity as Befehlshaber der Marine-Luftfahr-Abteilungen (Commander of Naval Aviation Units), measuring 21 cm (w) x 33 cm (h), demonstrating some creasing and minor, age-appropriate discolouration, a scarce document in better than very fine condition.

2. A Black Grade Wound Badge award document, named to Langdorf as an Oberleutnant, issued on 27 May 1918 and certified by the facsimile signature of Generalleutnant Ernst von Hoeppner, measuring 21 cm (w) x 26 cm (h), demonstrating a single folding crease, in near extremely fine condition.

3. Accompanied by a studio portrait of Steuermann, wearing a flight jacket, cap, goggles, and scarf, with the jacket notably clearly showing naval aviator buttons, the reverse in unused postcard format, measuring 9 cm (w) x 13.5 cm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
