Germany, HJ. A Sports Uniform, First Pattern

(HJ Sporthemd 1. Form). A well-preserved HJ sports shirt, constructed of white cotton with a gentle corduroy weave. Stitched onto the chest is an insignia consisting of a diamond-shaped white cotton base bearing a printed and multi-coloured HJ emblem, measuring 15.5 cm (w) x 24 cm (h). Otherwise plain and unmarked, the shirt measures approximately 32 cm (w) x 64 cm (l) (when folded on a flat surface and inclusive of shoulder straps). Accompanying the shirt is a matching pair of shorts, constructed of dark blue wool and featuring a regulation elasticized waistband and leg openings. Unmarked, the shorts measure approximately 28 cm (w) x 28 cm (l) when folded on a flat surface. The shirt demonstrates minor soiling consistent with age and wear. A first pattern ensemble utilizing an oversized breast insignia, this uniform was worn by both HJ and BDM personnel, and remains in a near extremely fine condition.
