In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(HJ Fahrtenmesser). An HJ member’s knife, measuring 25 cm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. IT features a 14 cm-long, nickel-plated, magnetic steel blade with a sharpened tip and lower edge. Acid-etched onto the obverse is an inscription of “BLUT UND EHRE!” (“BLOOD AND HONOUR!”). The reverse ricasso is marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo, maker code “M4/37” for P.D. Lüneschloss, Solingen, and a manufacture date of “1937”. The blade sits securely within a nickel-plated magnetic steel with a hooked quillon and pommel facilitating a secure grip. An intact blackened leather buffer pad covers the seam. The handle is composed of two pieces of pebbled black bakelite, fastened in place with dual non-magnetic metal rivets. Inset into the obverse of the handle is an enameled HJ insignia measuring 14 mm (w) x 22 mm (h). Accompanying the knife is its original scabbard, constructed of a black painted magnetic metal shaft. Riveted to the back of the shaft is a black leather strap, retaining a functional metal snap button to restrain the knife, which is stitched into a loop for belt suspension. The throat retains a functional catch to firmly hold the knife in place during storage. Some issues consistent with age and use are evident and include running marks and tarnishing to the blade, chipping of the blade’s lower edge, loss of nickel plating to the hilt with consequent surface oxidation, chipping of the handle’s enameled insignia, and material fatigue of the strap. A late-period example demonstrating unmistakable signs of member usage in very fine condition.
