Germany, HJ. A 1938 National Trade Competition Victor’s Badge, Gold Grade in Case, By Gustav Brehmer

(Ehrenzeichen Reichssieger im Reichsberufswettkampf 1938). A superb example of the highly desirable gold grade, gilded bronze and enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, surrounding a central white enameled disc, overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a cogwheel, circumscribed by an inscription of “REICHSSIEGER 1938”, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “G. BREHMER, MARKNEUKIRCHEN”, measuring 48.6 mm (w) x 45.3 mm (h), weighing 26.88 grams, the enameled HJ insignia has loss to the 6 o'clock due to period wear, otherwise extremely fine. Importantly, accompanied by original and rare case of issue, wooden framed with black leather exterior, interior with blue medal red and white silk lid,  strong push button, measuring 65.00 mm (w) x 65.00 mm (l), very fine. An excellent set and rare.
