(Wehrmacht Zielfernrohr - ZF 41 mit Behälter). A rare ZF41 sniper scope, constructed of a toned magnetic metal casing, affixed with four rivets to an original rail, featuring intact ocular and objective lenses, with a functional twist magnification dial, stamped on the side of the casing with a model number of “Z.F. 41.”, above a maker code of “CXN” indicating production by Emil Busch A.G., Rathenow, measuring 13.5 cm in total length as presented, accompanied by a matching storage case, constructed of a khaki-tan painted magnetic metal shell, the reverse riveted with a khaki-tan canvas strap perforated with a reinforced buttonholes, topped by a retractable lid on a functional hinge, with an elasticized strap emanating from the side of the lid to lock onto a stud set into the shell’s side for secure closure, opening to reveal an empty compartment set into the top of the lid and a felt-lined interior complete with a channel to accommodate the scope, stamped on the exterior with a serial number, a Waffenamt mark, and maker code of “JVB” indicating production by Wessel & Müller, Luckenwalde, measuring 7.5 cm (w) x 16.5 cm (h), the optics of the scope require professional adjustment and loss of paint is evident throughout the case, in overall better than very fine condition.
